My real name is Kimberly Congdon and I live in Wisconsin.   I am a paper craft instructor, designer, retailer and party planner.  I started Scrap It Girl January 2008, after hosting my 1st paper crafts class in my home classroom.  Ever since that first class I have expanded my studio and classroom space, added a mini store, and I now teach between 3-5 classes per week.  I also sell kits, place orders, teach at other locations, host parties, crops, and have 2 other crafty websites.  The best way to reach me is through my facebook page or email me at  Thank you

Happy Father’s Day Pallet Project~

Happy Father’s day~

Last week at the Scrap It Girl Kids Craft Camp that I host I wanted to find a big project for the kids to do for their dads.

I don’t usually “copy” a project but when I found the Pallet Flags on Pinterest I knew that would be a perfect gift.  I have no idea who originally came up with this great idea but several dozen people had pinned the project and I found many versions.  This is my version.  I did not come up with this fabulous idea.

I picked up some pallets and purchased Rust-Oleum paint from Home Depot and tons of paint brushes.  I cut out about 200 stars using vinyl and the cricut machine.

We couldn’t have had a more perfect day.  It was hot, so the paint dried fast.  The kids were swimming  in between steps of painting.

I took pictures of the kids with the finished projects and dads are picking them up today if the moms didn’t already sneak them home.

My daughter made one for my husband to and it is leaning against our fence in the back yard he loves it.

I will be doing this class at least 2 more times.  If you are interested let me know or check out my Scrap It Girl facebook page for more info.

June Challenge: Recipe Time, Brads, Buttons & Bling

It’s finally June, which I would normally think means sun, hot, summer, tanning, lazy days.. but so far not so much.

June 2nd in Wisconsin and it’s still a little chilly.  Chilly days are great days to break into your scrap stash.  You will want to dig out some oldies but goodies. Buttons, Brads & Bling.  But if it is warm where you are you still need to break into your stash.

yep it’s a Recipe Challenge for June.

Before we introduce our projects that the designers made this is what the winner receives and Congrats to our May winner #12 KAREN B.

Congrats Karen, please contact me with your address so we can ship you your goodies.

May Challenge: Stitching & Sewing!

Ugh.. I missed May 1st.  Just came back from a vaca and still catching up.  A day late but finally ready.

Do you like sewing or hand stitching on projects? If so you will like this months challenge.  Create whatever you desire just as long as you show some kind of sewing or stitching.  It can be hand sewn, machine sewn or fake it!  You can use dies, stamps, stencils or even a pen to create a look of sewing.  Just get creative and show us how you sew.

This is what the design team did with the stitching and sewing challenge.

Meet our newest designer, Kim Klinkovsky

April 2015 Colorado

Hello my name is Kim.

I went to the Colorado Institute of Art and have been crafty all my life thanks to my mom, grandmothers, and sisters. I have been a collector of pattern paper, stamps, and craft tools for about 15 years. I turned my passion into a career in 2010 when I worked for a couple local craft stores teaching classes and managing the stores. I’m very passionate about creating from the heart and making it homemade. I love to make cards and scrapbooks using pretty papers, ink, stamps, tools, and any kind of bling to make it sparkle. Last year I started submitting my cards for publication. It took eleven months, but I will finally be published in the Fall and Winter issues of CardMaker Magazine. As well as, “My Kraft Kloset” will be in Papercraft Inspirations Magazine for their “blog of the month” feature article. I have been married 20 years to an honorably discharged disabled US Army Veteran and we have four children: one daughter and three sons, including a set of twins. I live in the gorgeous state of Colorado in the shadows of the great Rocky Mountains and loving every minute of it.
