Hello & Welcome to Scrap It Girl’s site.

My real name is Kimberly Congdon and I live in Wisconsin. I am a paper craft instructor, designer, retailer and party planner. I started Scrap It Girl January 2008, after hosting my 1st paper crafts class in my home classroom. Ever since that first class I have expanded my studio and classroom space, added a mini store, and I now teach between 3-5 classes per week. I also sell kits, place orders, teach at other locations, host parties, crops, and have 2 other crafty websites. The best way to reach me is through my facebook page or email me at scrapitgirl@wi.rr.com Thank you

It’s Tuesday Morning! Christmas Tree~

Happy Tuesday Morning!

If it’s cold, icy, or snowing where you are then it’s a perfect day to stay inside to make a quick, unique and fun Holiday gift. Using Tuesday Morning supplies of course!

This is another Christmas Tree idea that has been around for a long time, I first seen a few of them on Pinterest.  Of course every time I see one on-line they look a little different, everyone gets pretty creative with them. I personally prefer using vintage thread spools or a vintage candle stick holder.
If you want to see the cutest trees ever and learn how to make them step by step, then you need to see Margie Romney-Aslett’s Spark the Event workshops.   Margie makes them and hosts on-line workshops teaching you how to make them with her own personal flair. She sells them as kits or you can take her on-line classes.   Please view her site for her Spark The Event classes.   Margie has a class for every season/holiday.   I have only had time for one so far.. but if I had the time I would take them all.  Margie picks up most of her supplies from Target or the dollar store.  So treat yourself to a class with Margie, then you can get started creating your own special homemade Christmas gifts.

Here is my version of the paper tree I made.  I used a few of Margie’s ideas and a few of my own.  I am using  some supplies from Tuesday Morning .   I love the gold textured napkins, the gold and silver trims from the Christmas wrapping area, and the tiny burlap bows that i found in the paper crafts area.

All 4 of these items were purchased at Tuesday Morning.

I cut up the entire pack of napkins into a variety of sizes.. all circles of course.

A few of my layers of goodies. Cupcake wrappers, doilies, vintage music note paper, coffee filters, and more!

Mini bows are on one tree, notice the gold bow and see the layers of napkins.

A few of my trees.. ready to be delivered to a few of my favorite friends. I have about 10 more to make.

I didn’t give you too many directions or a fabulous supply list because I want you to check out the
Spark Your Event workshops!  And if you do.. please tell her I sent you!

Have a great trip to your local Tuesday Morning to stock up on some fun trims, napkins, and mini bows.

Where am I? Teaching, Creating, & Sharing.

It’s been a while since I updated everyone as to where I am,  so I am using this post to fill you in.

Every Tuesday a.m I am still teaching some kind of paper craft class in my home studio.. I will be hitting my 7 year anniversary of that in January.

Wednesday’s I will be teaching either a private class in my studio, a make up class or a class at my local Hobby Lobby. I have been the paper craft instructor at my hobby lobby since 2009. My local hobby lobby is moving to a new location in January, once we are settled in I will hold a new store crop there and giveaway classes, supplies, and more. So look out for details regarding that special crop event.  I also do evening classes if I am repeating a class or if someone schedules a class for that time. Most of my private classes are now evening classes.

I teach a kids craft class once a month during the school year. These classes are usually Friday’s at 1:30-3:30 and are typically seasonal or holiday projects.

Besides teaching a few classes a week, I also sell kits to all the classes I teach. So if you can’t make it to a class, you can at least get a kit and make it on your own.

I am still teaching cricut classes, mini albums, cards, stamping, tool training, scrapbooking, and more.
Just because my business name is Scrap It Girl.. please don’t think I only scrap. In fact.. my Tuesday class has been more altered art, home décor and holiday décor projects more than it has been scrapbooking.

Besides my paper craft classes.. I still host birthday parties, in store event, classes at schools, crops, and I sell supplies. But more often than not.. you can find me on-line. I have 5 blogs/websites, 5 Facebook business pages, tons of twitter, pinterest, and instagram accounts. So I am on-line a lot of the time. I am also trying to finish up some on-line classes I started early in the summer.. this has been taking up so much time that I slowed down my class schedule. Once I finish with my classes you will see more changes to my on-line accounts.

I still get offered plenty of opportunities to work with many great companies.. but with my busy schedule I plan to hold off on working with any more until January. I will be having a new Design Team call in January in preparation for new things to come. So I hope you apply!

Take a look at some of the companies you can find me currently connected to.
I love them all and I am grateful for all the great opportunities I am given. It’s been a bumpy ride getting to work with amazing companies.. but I know that the ones I am connected to right now are the best I have been with and I am lucky!
