More Mini’s

It’s been Mini Album Mania~   between making albums for classes, stores, and for gifts.. I have been loving making the Mini’s..

What was the last mini album you made?  Do you enjoy making them as gifts or for your own pictures?  It is so much easier to make a mini if you have a theme in mind.  I find them easier to make if they are a gift.. that way I don’t have to add photos.. lol  anyways here are a few photos of this weeks albums.. some are from a class I taught and some are gifts.

I LOVE MY DAILY GRANDE NO-WHIP MOCHA.. AND YES I MEAN DAILY~ It’s my only true addiction at about $4.30 a day.. I figure I work hard I deserve it~

I have a few random pictures of my favorite coffee cups that some awesome friends bought me.. my collection of Starbucks sleeves.. and my mini album that I made using the Genuinely Jane Studios wood coffee cup album.  I have a few stamps with fun coffee sayings and some cute coffee cup stamps, but I wanted to try to only use Starbucks products in my book.

Welcome to Day 3 of the Genuinely Jane Studios & Artistcellar Blog Hop~ We have  a full week of a team up between the Genuinely Jane Studios and Artistcellar design team members.

As part of the celebration, Artistcellar will be giving away a $20 Genuinely Jane Studios gift certificate to one lucky winner, picked from all of the comments left on theArtistcellar.com blog this week on the projects showing Genuinely Jane Studios products –such as this post!  You may comment on each Genuinely Jane Studios post on the Artistcellar blog  once for a chance to win!  You need to check out what the designers from the Genuinely Jane Studios team do each day too~
I decided to use my Tag book from Genuinely Jane Studios.  Instead of using my tags in a book, I am using them as individual gift tags or home decor tags.
The main stencils that I used are from Artistcellar. I used the 6×6 Apparatus & 6×6 Cherry Blossom

Lemonade anyone? GJS Sun

Now that summer is finally right around the corner, my girls are getting ready for their 1st Lemonade stand.  They are having it on Saturday, so they asked me to create a paper banner to hang in front of their table.  I figured lemonade, ice, and popsicles,  would not work with a paper banner.  So I started looking for a better idea for their signage.  And guess what I found?  This  wonderful wood Sun Shaped album from GENUINELY  JANE STUDIOS.   I think this is perfect for taking apart to use as star bursts to highlight the items they plan to sell.  My daughters helped with the project.

Here is a list of what I used and a few quick steps to help you create your own.

Sun book from Genuinely Jane Studios

Yellow acrylic paint, water spray bottle, Modeling paste, Gesso from Claudine Hellmuth, your choice of stencils, I used Balzer Designs Mini Layered Beads and an alphabet from a craft store, Black Faber-Castell Pitt big brush, Dark Chrome yellow big brush, orange and yellow gelato’s, and I sprayed Mod Podge glaze over the finished projects.  The “sun-bursts” can be tied to any item, but we are using these clips that I use in my store to hold my other signage items.   The 4th sun piece isn’t done yet, we think we are going to hang it from the lemonade dispenser as a decoration.  I will post finished pictures of the stand on Saturday.

This is a really easy and quick project.  Basically choose your base color, which for us was a bright yellow.  We painted 1st and once it dried we stenciled the “layered beads” using the gesso and I mixed it w/modeling paste for more texture.  Heated it, then added more yellow by using the gelatos, Big brush yellow and a few squirts of water to blend.  We outlined the bursts with the black big brush and used the same big brush to stencil the words.  I used the Glaze to finish it off.  I think they will look better sitting on the lemonade stand on a hot summer day.

The tag book that is pictured above is being used in another post later this week.. at first I was using those tags with the sun but at the last second changed my mind.  Check back this week to see what I do with the tag book and to see how the lemonade stand turns out.
