Hello & Welcome to Scrap It Girl’s site.

My real name is Kimberly Congdon and I live in Wisconsin. I am a paper craft instructor, designer, retailer and party planner. I started Scrap It Girl January 2008, after hosting my 1st paper crafts class in my home classroom. Ever since that first class I have expanded my studio and classroom space, added a mini store, and I now teach between 3-5 classes per week. I also sell kits, place orders, teach at other locations, host parties, crops, and have 2 other crafty websites. The best way to reach me is through my facebook page or email me at scrapitgirl@wi.rr.com Thank you

April Color Challenge: Black, White & 1 Other Color!

Happy April Fools Day!

It’s time for a new challenge.

This month we are focusing on Color. Black, White, and one other color of your choice.
It can be anything homemade that you create. Our last months challenge was “Selfies”.. apparently not every one was a fan, we had a low amount of entries.. but our winner is #3 Rochelle Spears Congrats we loved your selfie layout.

Please private message me through my Scrap It Girl Facebook page or send me an email with your address.

For my Black, White, and one color challenge, I picked red. Here is my layout.

Scrap It Girl’s Layout

For my layout I used an 8 1/2 x 11 black sheet of cardstock for my black, red glitter paper to back the Large Jenni Bowlin Adore Bingo Card & the black/white photo of my daughter.  The Look vintage card is also from Jenni Bowlin.  I used my favorite Washi Tapes from Love My Tapes for my red embellishments and a few sprinkles of bling.. quick and easy!

Here is the prize package I put together for the winner of this month’s April Challenge.  Journaling cards & embellishments from Jenni Bowlin, Feathers, Stickers, Washi Tape, Stars, Tags and more..

Our designers have created a variety of layouts and cards using Black, White, and one other color of choice.  Take a look and then submit your project before the month ends. Please click on their projects to view their blogs and get a closer look.

Love My Tapes Easter Style! (& coupon codes)

I am so glad Love My Tapes has an Etsy shop.  I was able to add a few more tapes to my collection that will be perfect for the upcoming holidays.

This set of 3 Fabric Tapes is the Haze collection.  I love the look and feel of fabric tapes.  This set is perfect for the Easter or Spring projects.

The Haze Fabric Tape Collection

Here is a look at my new Washi Tape.  I love anything with numbers on it!  The thin black numbered washi tape will be perfect for a project I am doing for school, but it will also work in my journals.   Of course stars are great year round but I plan to use this for my 4th of July Rosette banner.  The gold is fabulous for anything and everything.  Hearts are for some Valentine cards and treat bags.  The banner’s were too cute to pass up and the bunnies are on everything that I made this week!  Which one is your favorite?

Here are my new Washi Tapes. Spring, Valentines Day, School and 4th of July tapes.. ready for new projects.

I covered 2 paper mache eggs with fabric tape, and added a strip of it to my book page egg. The banners were topped off with some of the lace tape and bunny themed washi tape.

I covered these paper mache eggs with Love My Tapes bunny washi tape and fabric tapes. Some of the eggs are old text books with only one strip of washi tape and then I added a button.

These paper mache eggs were so easy to decorate with tape.. you can either just peel and stick or you can add some glue over and under the tape.  I love quick DIY projects and the kids do to!  I also added a touch of the bunny washi tape to a banner and my Easter book.

All of the tapes pictured are from Love My Tapes. You can purchase them from the new Etsy shop.
