Favorite Things Friday! Embellishments

Happy Friday!  Today we are sharing our Favorite Embellishments.  Of course there are an insane amount of embellishments available to the crafters, so it’s hard to choose just one.

Most of my designers had the same favorites so you will only see a few pictures.  What is your favorite embellishment?  My favorite embellishments seem to change often.  Of course a good old button is still fun to use.  Now days I tend to reach for my washi tapes from Love My Tapes and my wood embellishments from Unique Laser Designs.  I can still stamp, paint, ink, etc to the washi tapes and wood embellishments, that’s just one of the reasons why I picked them.  The price is an added plus.

Here is a look at our Favorite embellishments.  Feel free to add a picture of your favorite.

Keep Calm

Today I am showing you a poster I made for my daughters chool.  Our school has this program school wide that recognizes kids who show good character.

The kids are given certificates and a Character sticker if they are seen using any of these school wide traits.

*Work Ethic *Responsibility  *Respect *Integrity *Hope *Courage * Citizenship * Compassion *Self-Discipline

When making this poster I knew I had to use a strong adhesive, so I used the LOVE MY TAPES double-sided adhesive tape runner.  The letters and tree are a heavy glitter cardstock and I layered the two poster boards using the same adhesive.   So next time you order your washi, fabric or lace tapes, add a few of the tape runners too.

I made several other KEEP CALM signs this week and kids that attended my Kids Camp made some too.   Have a great week & Keep Calm.!

Supplies I used for my poster.

Cute Pink Love My Tapes adhesive!

Getting ready to put it together.

Holly had to supervise what I was doing.

Favorite Things Friday! Dies…

OMG.. yep it’s been a couple of weeks..  I missed my Friday’s Favorite things post, somehow they flew right past me.

So I am a little behind.  Some of my designers already did this post a few weeks ago, so I apologize if you go looking for their posts today.

Today I am sharing  pictures of our favorite dies.

As you can see the Tim Holtz Dies, My Favorite Things, Spellbinders, and Sizzix dies are our favorites.

If you have a Favorite Die that is not pictured feel free to link it up below.  Next weeks favorite things is going to be Favorite Embellishments, so get ready!

Have a great weekend.

Back 2 Back with Unique Laser Designs

Hello Crafty Peeps,

Today I am sharing a post I just did for Unique Laser Designs.

I am on their Design Team for a 2nd term and can’t wait to start sharing with you all the new products they are producing almost daily.

But today I am just giving you 20 ideas of products you can combine with the Unique Laser Designs Wood Embellishments.

I used the stars and circles from ULD as my samples.

Tulip fabric paint, Stickles, Liquid Pearls, Distress Paint, Distress Marker, Colored Pencil,Heidi Swapp Archival Dye, Distress crackle paint.  All of these mediums were just one coat.  All of them

covered the wood to match their true color except for the Heidi Swapp ink.  You can see that star looks more green.

Glossy accents, Acrylic Paint, Chalkboard paint, Distress stain,Distress Embossing powder, Stazon ink.

Every one of these products was true to the color and look

awesome in person.  I love the glossy accents and the stamped

images on the wood. Are you getting any ideas?

Distress crackle paint (again), Glitter, Glimmer Glaze, Color Shine,Creative Impressions Paint, Copic Marker, Liquid Applique.

All of them look true to their color except for the copic marker, it looked more pink

but if I did more coats it may of been more purple.  I love the glitter and liquid

applique.. it looks so cool in person.

After seeing 20 different things you can add to the Unique Laser Designs embellishments I hope you start to look around your craft room for more ideas.  Remember I only did one coat.. you can add more coats and get more color.  But I really liked the results.

We all have the mediums.. now we need to just order more ULD wood embellishments.  Click to the website to stock up on our new shapes.
