CHA ready or not!

Hello CHA!  (Craft & Hobby Association-Winter Conference & Trade Show)

CHA (pronounced C-H-A, not like cha-cha-cha) is like the best event  for crafters since all of your favorite manufacturers are there.  CHA is held twice a year, I have been to a few summer shows but this will be my first trip to the winter show.  The summer show is in Chicago and the Winter Show is in California.   Lucky me… I live in Wisconsin, so going to Anaheim, California for anything in January is awesome.
CHA is the  place to be for buyers, independent craft stores, on-line stores, bloggers/websites, and media looking for the newest and best  in crafting.  One of the perks of attending CHA is that you will also have a chance to meet some of your on-line crafting friends.  You will also meet many of the design team members, store owners, “celebrity” crafters (that you are obsessed with) and you will even make new friends.
Manufacturers bring their newest designs, designers are there giving you demos, the booths are amazing to look at, the amount of information is overwhelming, but worth it~  You stand and walk pretty much all day/night.  If you attend a workshop, seminar, or get in on a make n take.. that is pretty much the only time you sit.
I am going to seminars from 8:30 a.m to 9:00 p.m on Saturday, there is a small  break in there somewhere & I will go to 2 workshops somewhere in there too.. but I like to take in as many business related seminars as possible.    Sunday I will attend an event w/ EK Success,  be on the show room floor drooling over all the products I want, and meeting up with my friend Rina who is from California.   Good Times~ Monday will be another day of  planning out my upcoming classes, trying to decide what I want to buy, and meeting a few new people.  I also have a few more events to check out that day & plan to meet Tori Spelling in the afternoon.
Sounds like fun right?  Well I did leave out some good stuff but I want to save some surprises.  I will post pictures on my facebook page so make sure you follow  scrap it girl on facebook.   I will be back with a new post next week~

Layout a Day & My 2011 Album that is ready to pop~

Here is my layout for January 20th, I am working on my layout for the 21st still, I should have it done by midnight~

Besides trying to keep up with the layout a day, I am also doing several other things. One other task I added to my list was to add my finished pages to an album before the stack of finished layouts gets out of control. Well here is a picture of my 7 year-olds 2011 album.. no this is not done. I still have several events to scrap and add to this book. One of my other tasks this year is to have 2012 in one album not two, three or four~  As much as I love my embellishments, my albums do not.. looks like I have to divide this album and make it into 2.  Ok, 2012.. goal one album each girl, one for me, and of course one for my husband too.

Hey Challenge friends, don’t forget to enter your layout, card, or project to my challenge.. listed a few posts below.. just need to add something that starts with a C, H, A.. (chipboard, cardboard, circles, cardstock, hearts, home, hemp, arrows, angels, apples.. just a few examples of things to use)

Crate Paper Love~

Who doesn’t love Crate Paper?  I love the Emma’s Shoppe Collection & the Neighborhood Collection.  Here I used both collections of the Layered Chipboard stickers on this 7 Gypsies frame.  I also used the 6×6 Emma’s Shoppe paper, Pink Paislee’s felt flowers, a mini chalk board, a few misc. flowers, and Doodle Bug Twine.  This is going to be on display over at Hannah’s in Antioch, Illinois.  Stop there to pick up the products you need to make your frame.  If you don’t live near them they will send you the products, just call.  847-395-3355  ask for Dana or Jill.  I added a few random pictures of my girls and used glossy accents to keep everything in place.

Here Kitty, Kitty…Altered Art Kids Class @ Hannah’s

Looking for a kids class?  I am hosting a Kids Class @ Hannah’s in Antioch in February.. the class will cost $10.  I will be posting the date, time, and more info soon, so check back~

What will we be making, you ask?   How about a mini shadow box frame?   Here is a “cat” version.  Your child will choose between cats or dogs.  You will need to bring a 5×7 photo of your child/children w/ their pet.    Here is my daughter with a cat from a farm we visited.
